Mental exhaustion
The new way of working with AI has us jumping from idea to idea, weekends included, and the tiredness builds up. We are the new junkies.

More and more, among my colleagues and in myself, I see that we are increasingly mentally exhausted. The new way of working that AI has imposed on us keeps us constantly jumping from one place to another, thinking non-stop about how to solve a problem and about ideas that come to us spontaneously and that we try to implement. And, of course, the most dreaded one: the «Hold my drink». Basically, that moment when we are discussing a problem, an idea or a roadblock, someone comes up with a way to solve it and immediately sits down at their computer to see if they can demonstrate that they are right.
Well, all of this, day after day and weekend after weekend (because yes, at weekends we work on our personal projects or try to solve that problem that had us stuck), is causing us one hell of an exhaustion. I notice it in myself: Monday comes and I arrive at the office tired, but imagine Wednesday... Phew, by Wednesday I'm no longer human, because everything has piled up: the day-to-day work, the human problems (the things that come with managing people) and the technical challenges. And then... BOOOOOMM!!!
Why don't you stop and take it easy? That's what everyone tells me... Because this is pure, hell of a dopamine: the feeling that, if I don't do it, I'm wasting my time is stronger than the need to rest.
How long will we hold out? No idea... but the problem is there.
PS: The company doesn't force anything; we are the ones who motivate ourselves and feed off each other... We are the new junkies.
